˖⁺‧₊˚✦ ways to make your laptop aesthetic feat. some extensions, websites & apps for students
i created this cause i found some time to finally upgrade and properly personalise my laptop, it took me almost an entire day watching youtube videos, researching for these and setting them up. so... i'm basically posting this for myself lol, but i also feel like sharing cause these are actually really good hehe
i'm using a windows laptop but i think most of these should work on mac too. most of these are free but there are maybe like less than five that require to be paid.
those that are marked with an asterisk (*) are the ones that i'm currently using while others are recommended or alternatives!
here is what my home screen looks like now:
i. screen saver
fliqlo (ios & win) * flipit (win, an inspired & alt ver of ^) flix clock (mac & web, paid ver comes with colours other than black) aura gradient clock (mac & web) retro anime desk clock (mac) flocus (web) * studywithme (web) note: remember to right-click the file and select "install", then ensure that the wait time (e.g: 5 mins) is less than your "turn off your screen" and "put my device to sleep after" (e.g: both 15 mins) in power settings
ii. tab themes
kluk: a clock tab theme * angry study helper: a tab theme that gets angy at u whenever u open a new tab gratitutab: a minimalistic tab theme that works as a to-do list prioritab: a tab theme that shows priorities that u had set for the day, week, and month

v. apps
virtual cottage chill corner notion *
vi. rainmeter skins
mond * lano visualizer amatical * small clean weather animated * ageo sonder * cloudy harmattan note: if you're new to rainmeter, it can be a bit overwhelming, u may check out this short and simple tutorial on it, make sure to read the instructions if you're using complicated skins like weather (may require u to edit in txt), i also highly rec watching techrifle's videos
vii. misc.
wallpaper engine * (highly rec getting from chillhop) my live wallpaper (free alt of ^) translucenttb * roundedtb note: u can disable your shortcut icons to be invisible by right-clicking on your home screen, go to "view", and untick "show desktop icons", this is optional and i would always enable it whenever i'm working and gaming for easier access, i also set the icons to small

Hello fellow dyslexic/adhd/others who would like to enjoy fanfics through their ears, I just spent the entire day testing android apps to find one that doesn’t suck as much.
TL;DR - these two T2S, Audify
I feel like I need to share this because 90% the apps don’t even allow a web page as a source, let alone get past the log in page, and I cant be the only one who doesn’t want to download every single fic.
“Oh, but doesn’t android have a built-in text-to-speech function in the accessibility settings?” I hear you ask. Yes, but it sucks ass very badly. Firstly it only reads in the system language, so it doesn’t really work. Second, you need to highlight all that you want it to read, and seeing that I read a minimum of 15k words in a sitting, I’m not gonna do that.
Also I’m broke, I imagine you are too, but even if I wasn’t I’m not paying for this, if I did I wouldn’t even be supporting a human being, so no.
I’ll immediately break your trust with the first point, but it’s what I’ve been doing until now, and now that I know what the android mobile experience is like, I feel the need to include this. The best solution I’ve had so far (which works wonders, let me tell you) is letting Siri read them on the iPad. It’s only doable when I’m at home and it’s still an apple product, so that’s why I began the research. However the positive points are INCREDIBLE so I’m going to ads it to the list because I said so.
First of all it’s built-in and SO EASY to access, you literally just swipe with two fingers and it stars to read. It reads the punctuation, you might think that’s a given and so did I, but no. A question sounds like a question, an exclamation point does why its supposed to do, short sentences sound what they’re supposed to sound like. In apparently all the apps ever created, you won’t find any of it, just flat, monotone voices with flat little pauses. Overall excellent experience 10/10.
Cons: it’s on apple, I consider apple the same as Disney, I would love to not give them more money so that they can make the market increasingly worse. Every now and then a system update will fuck with the tts function and it will be unusable for a while. Sometimes it doesn’t like the text format on some fics. It’s not portable.
Now that we got that out of the way let us get to the meet.
Speechify - it sucks bad. At least the free version, but seen as it costs almost 10€ a month I’m not even going to consider the premium version. Fuck that. You can’t increase the speed, and as somebody who hasn’t watched a single YouTube video on normal speed since they added the function I can’t do that, too slow, I forgot what we were talking about once we get to the end of the sentence. Also you can only use those weird very robotic voices, and they’re not even that many. Don’t recommend. I felt like I had to include it since it was one of the few who allowed browser navigation and well, it’s speechify. Also you can’t t have saved more than 3 “files” per time. Doesn’t have sleep mode.
T2S - cute. It works. Again, no emotions, but it reads what it has to, nice voice selections, easy to use. The premium version adds literally nothing, they’re a good app, what they have, they give. Also you can customise the interface colour if you want. Has the sleep mode. - EDIT: this app allows you to have multiple tabs open at the same time, unlike Audify. - EDIT EDIT: it's waaay better than Audify with pdf files.
Audify - works exactly the same as T2S, but it saves the history and has a bit more customisation for how it reads and what it reads (which you don’t really need for ao3, but if you wanted to read, say, Wikipedia with all the notes and stuff, now you know). Has the sleep mode. - EDIT: the double tap to start reading works slightly better than T2S on websites with weird formatting. But unlike T2S you can only have one tab open - EDIT EDIT: will turn your pdf file into text and will show you just text. If you had things like images or columns fucks for you.
That’s all folks. Now go and be free of your reading impediment, or be free in your multitasking, or whatever you want to do. I’m done, I’ve given my datas to all kinds of shady apps, I need to go do damage control

7/9/2023 update:
Listened to japanese for 6+ hours - 2 hours Final Fantasy X let's play, .5 hour listening to TTS audiobook while reading along, .5 hour watching Dracula musical, 3 hours listening to glossika japanese (on audio 10)
Dracula Musical: i watched this maybe 2 years ago and I remember it motivated me to want to get back into learning Japanese. Because I could follow the main idea (which to be fair, its based on Dracula so of course I could guess mainly what was going on based on the Dracula scene it looked like). Well I watched some of it again tonight: MUCH better grasp of specifics now lol. I'm relying on Kanji words heavily (because I can guess them faster), but the overall effect is still wooh I can follow some lines completely and other lines the main idea at least. Which is a lot more than the last time I watched this! I found it on bilibili with Chinese and Japanese subs if any of you want to watch. Notable features: its a rock musical, Dracula is played by a woman, the 3 brides of Dracula are played by men, Dracula is in love with Mina (like the Coppula Dracula movie). It also has my favorite Dracula ending of the various versions I've seen of the story.
【【荷花】D R A C U L A 熟肉-哔哩哔哩】 https://b23.tv/xv3grnN
Guardian TTS with kindle ebook: so if anyone else wants to go on this journey, amazon.co.jp has a lot of ebooks for fairly cheap prices (I think I literally got like 10 of the guardian ebook installments that come in chapters of 4, for free, today, just from points). I think you have to register with a Japanese address, and make sure you either use a different email than your amazon.com/other account OR you use a different password, so that when you log into kindle app you can log into your Japanese account (because if email used AND password are the same, you can only log into your first account you made - I ran into this issue until I just changed my password). To use TTS in Kindle app (on android), go to settings, accessibility settings, Talkback. Enable it. Pick where you want Talkback icon to be, I personally like putting it on my navigation bar so I don't accidentally tap it when browsing. Click Talkback settings, languages and install all the languages you need talkback to be able to do text to speech for. Pick the voice version of each language you most like the sound of. For language detection I suggest you pick Aggressive so it automatically reads the correct language when it runs into text in a new language (such as a web page with english then Japanese text). If you pick conservative, the audio may stay "English voice" even once other language text is encountered. If Talkback stops being able to read multiple languages (or any other app on your phone suddenly no longer can), then you'll want to to BACK into Talkback, back into Google language services settings, and re download the languages you need. For some reason Samsung likes to delete language data every so often if you aren't using it frequently. When Samsung deletes it, suddenly apps that use TTS on the phone have NO audio for non English languages (or non-whatever language your default is on the phone) and the phone will either NOT play audio for other languages at all, or attempts to play the audio with the default language voice (on my phone the English Voice) and it sounds absolutely awful and makes gratuitous mistakes.
Anyway. Once you have the japanese ebooks to your hearts content on kindle app, feel free to read. If you want TTS while reading, then open the ebook in Kindle and flip to the page you want to start on. Click Talkback icon. Then double click the ebook page. Once you've selected the page, Talkback should give directions on turning on Text To Speech (click twice, click twice to confirm). Then you should get a TTS voice from Talkbacks voice option you downloaded.
Actual progress while reading? Well I got through the prologue and chapter 1. For the prologue I just tried to follow the speed of audio (which was brain fryingly fast for me). For the first chapter, I read through it first and looked up unknown words. I confirmed my guess, which is that a lot of the Kanji words (in combination with me being familiar with these chapters plots already) means I'm guessing these words correctly for the most part. The major new words I need to learn: hiragana words! And the "helper" words that use Kanji (and tend to be 4 characters, Kanji hiragana Kanji hiragana). Words like just, suddenly, at the same time, drew back/fell back, and (4 variants for and used!). I also noticed a few grammar patterns that i guess I never studied a grammar guide High enough to either study or understand. 1. Adjectives (or maybe it's adverbs the way they were used?) Were used actually quite similar to the -ly in English or -de in chinese. Id see a descriptive word then a regular grammar pattern and it'd be describing the thing after it. After a few pages it got a lot more obvious when I was looking at a descriptive (which makes life easier). 2. I have had a rough idea of japanese sentence grammar for YEARS at this point. But actually reading I think made it clearer how to rely on the particles, and how much SHITA, DATTA, DEKITA, and SHI after verbs in the middle of sentences, crop up! I mean yeah they're all basic beginner class words. But just like English, do, was, did, doing are real fucking useful. Idk it wasn't like learning something new so much as reading enough I am able to notice This common pattern, which helps make it easier to single out and isolate hiragana only words that ARENT these and combination words that are HELPER words (like in the end, concluded, and then, just, suddenly) that I still need to learn. So basically, brute force making myself read IS Helping with improving my ability to parse words (which again is critical for figuring out hiragana words from conjugation and helper words from descriptives). 3. Word order was not actually as big a deal as... I guess ever? Maybe I've just listened to enough japanese I'm used to it. There was only two sentence where order confused me and it was a long ass descriptive sentence of Da Qing looking like a flattened fat persimmon and denting the car hood and saying it smells like a bomb dropped how did yunlan not notice, and the long ass description of Zhao yunlans messy room including all the items and how even a pig would be offended by being compared to its level of mess. Because I've read the novel I knew those parts so it wasn't too confusing, but they were very long sentences and I think I'd have been lost if it was a brand new novel to me.

I understand most of yall hate tiktok but i need you to understand that with twitter on the verge of death, people literally finding themselves unable to download archives of their content, that tiktok is serving a vital purpose right now
If you search names like Shervin Hajipour, Zhina Amini (Mahsa Amini), Hossein Ronaghi, Khodanour Lajaei, or Nika Shakarami on google, you might only find results from September or October. As I'm typing this, November 2022 is almost over.
This particular wave of the ongoing genocide has been ramping up for MONTHS now and you have to dig for updates.
Look back a little further and you'll learn about Bloody November, in 2019. 1500+ peaceful people. Look back further! This battle against genocide isn't new, isn't small, isn't irrelevant. But mainstream news would have you believe it. Meanwhile on TT and IG you can search these tags and find updates as recent as a few hours.
Hashtags on tiktok are allowing people to communicate directly. The internet and ELECTRICITY are cut off in Mahabad and people are being attacked in cities across Iran
yet humans across continents have formed a delicate chain of communication with voice recorders, videos, instagram, twitter, tiktok... this echo is how we hear their cries for help. their literal cries for help. The literal voice recordings of Iranian children and adults in terror being shot at being executed having their homes burned are still making it out of a cities under attack across continents and oceans.
Tiktok is full of vile evil shit just like the rest of the internet. Just like Twitter. but we need these forms of communication.
I am telling you. The content of these videos, which you can find yourself on tiktok or other social media with hashtags like #MahsaAmini, #StopExecutionsInIran, #WomenLifeFreedom, #Mahabad and more, is not being archived for history lessons for your grandkids to watch on a projector. It isn't gonna be broadcast next week on tv news. It is actively being scrubbed, minute by minute, by people who do not want you to believe or care this is happening. People who know that in the age of information excess, out of sight is out of mind. People who know they can enrage more people with Taylor Swift concert tickets.
I download as many videos, as much footage as I can come across. Then I'm moving them to my computer. Then a flash drive. I'm trying to get a library card to access a printer so I can have physical copies of articles. English, Arabic, anything that is direct footage, any summaries of events, I am including the date and location. This is something you can do too. This is something tiktok makes easy to do.
Nobody is telling me to do it but I believe it's going to matter.
I'm 27. I understand the education system. In my time since graduation I've come to understand how much we WEREN'T taught, how much we were taught that was a straight up lie.
Filtering through data is a good skill to have whether you're reading a textbook or using social media.
I'm not telling you to like tiktok or even try it, I'm just saying that if you care about this information then you can find it there, and you can connect with other people who also care.
(Also, there are TON of Indigenous creators using tiktok to share their history, language, art, and updates about issues like threats to the Indian Child Welfare Act. You can't control the algorithm but you kinda can. There are a lot of great people on these apps and I don't want to lose them and I don't want them to lose their space either.)
Archiving, connecting, listening, and learning may not be profitable or encouraged but it is important and accessible work and if you are often housebound or even bedbound, it can be a fulfilling way to reach out to others.
These people in Iran are in danger. They are children, students, people who care about the planet, about equality, about fairness. Thats WHY theyre being executed. These are the people who believe in the future we want and how can we build that future if they're gone? More importantly than their value to future generations, these people deserve to live their own lives, to breathe, to not be afraid.
Many of the recordings I find on tiktok are the first and last bits of connection we have with the people who make them, because they have since been executed or gone missing.
I have seen the photos Kian Pirfalak, a little boy shot to death, his body under ice so it wouldn't be stolen away. People across the ocean knew he died before his father- also injured, still in critical condition from when we last heard- knew he lost a son. His mother attacked while mourning at his funeral.
Ive seen the photos of the devices they use to hang people. People my age. Do you know what I mean? When I watch a video I know it could be removed in an hour. Accounts get deleted and how do you ever find that Person again? that individual, specific person? To help them?
There are people on the internet trying to convince you that 15,000+ humans are not currently at risk of execution. Theyve had a lot of success desensitizing everyone to mass death what with the pandemic and all. Please don't let them. If you cant conceptualize these numbers, just think about one person. Think about the ones who died and why. Think about the ones who are alive and what they need.
I will be posting some of the videos I find on here as well. This is happening in real time and it's being erased in real time. All of this could be gone tomorrow. I don't know what else to say.

I don't need a screen reader, but I've tried TalkBack. Partially because I want to know how it is to use a screen reader so that I can make things more accessible. Partially because I might need it later in case something happens. Partially to try and see if I can use my phone in any situation I'm not able to look at it.
so far I have the following observations:
1.) TalkBack reads the three dots weirdly. Instead of saying "dot dot dot" it says something like "symbol of talker: 3". I might not be hearing that correctly;
2.) slashes in places of "or" are a bit hard to parse, better to actually use "or";
3.) usual app layout is hell to navigate. particularly because of all the elements you need to scroll. I've only tried Discord and Tumblr, but I'm guessing others are similar. I do not know if the apps actually have a more accessible layout, but they certainly didn't say anything to me. I don't know if this is a skill issue, but I do think I miss a lot more;
4.) it actually has a bunch of quirky controls. I don't think it's accessible to people with motor issues, maybe there is no way a regular phone would be able to be. (you'd need more physical buttons. which should be a thing actually.) anyway, sometimes it mistakes me swiping to the next item as me clicking things in the middle of the screen. that is annoying. probing your screen isn't the easiest either;
5.) searching "screen reader" in google play didn't get me anything better. (and I thought there would be better things. maybe I didn't look as properly). There was one app that only teaches you TalkBack gestures. There was also a google read mode thing but idk if it provides much interactionable stuff, I didn't get it to open quickly and then I didn't try again;
6.) screen reader is a good way of checking your messages for typos;
7.) you can type only with TalkBack and a google keyboard, but that is super slow, get another input method;
8.) just tried starting it with the volume buttons again, didn't press at the same time, that's annoying when it happens;
9.) oh yeah I totally forgot. If you're using several languages regularly, you're going to have to deal with TTS reading things in another mode, resulting in a language being read with a barely understandable accent. If you have UI in one language and posts in another? Posts in different languages? Too bad, be ready to switch a lot or indure the TTS accent.
Overall? Needing to scroll sucks

Text to speech systems are not unknown — you use it while conversing with Alexa or Apple’s Siri or Google Assistant.
Though previously, it was only used for building accessible apps and speech-powered chatbots, its applications have grown in the last decade like in the area of audiobooks that help people enjoy stories or learn new things while multitasking.
Thanks to its growing popularity in the last decade, there are tons of text to speech (TTS) system providers, making it difficult for you to pick the best tool per your requirements.

Pros

Cons
Its voices sound a little robotic, unlike many solutions on this list.

That is all about the best text-to-speech solutions available in the market.
There are some free options here like NaturalReader, Capti, and more, but most others are only available as paid products.

If you follow me on AO3...
If you’ve been to my AO3 page lately without logging in or without an account and you see the page looking “empty” or “blank”
Know that my fics were NOT deleted. They’re still there, so don’t panic.
I just had to “Lock them” (Notice the little blue Lock next to the title). So they’re set to “Only show your work to registered users”. Meaning that now in order to read my stories you may need to get an account (I know of ALOT of artist who have Invites and codes they’re giving away to help anyone who needs an account, but doesn’t wanna go through the hassle of waiting for an Invite.)
I ended up having to take this really difficult decision after all the drama that went down yesterday with those (unofficial) Apps that started appearing out of nowhere and people everywhere were freaking out after being told these apps had not only stolen all our fics on AO3, but that they were also making profit out of them through the use of Ads,“asking for tip$” from the users of said apps and also offering “Premium Content” that sometimes allowed the users to “Unlock” stories that were set Private. (WHY would you pay a total stranger money to view content that’s already available for FREE??)
(I also heard that the apps stole logging info if people logged into their AO3 through it. So these apps are all one big SCAM.)
The second reason why I did the Lock-Up was because many of my fics contain Companion Art/Fanart, I created specifically for the story/chapters which are added through Direct Linking through here on Tumblr.
It just sucks that authors and artists, like myself, get pushed into taking these drastic measures in order to protect our work from online parasites. ‘Cause fanart or not, Fanfic or not, it is still our hardwork. Something that we’re proud of and enjoy sharing with others. But if we, as the creators, are not allowed to profit from said work without receiving a Copyright Infringement Report or worse, having it taken down from the pages we upload it to (or you know... face a lawsuit).
Why should someone else who didn’t even put their two cents into their creation?
And like many have said, it sucks because a lot of our traffic and Kudos♥ come from Guest/People without accounts. So every time we have to restrict access/hide our stuff or move to another page that offers more security, it takes a huge bite out of the Feedback we usually get.
It’s not like on Deviantart, where I did ended up having to make both my accounts Private years ago so that its only visible to Members, after it was brought up that people from Photobucket, 4chan, Danbooru, ect kept coming into DA to steal drawings, recolor them and then upload them on other sites like it was theirs. And I think several companies do this as well (*coughcoughHOTTOPICcoughcough*). But in the end it made no difference on the way I receive Views/Feedback, since you still need an account in order to give anyone Like/Fave and Comments/Feedback anyway.
But places like AO3, Fanficition.net, Wattpad ect are different.
ALOT of people read fics from sites like these without the need from an account because the pages themselves make it easier for the readers to leave feedback/kudos/likes on the works without the need and hassle of having to get an account UNLESS you’re a writer yourself and would like to upload your own stories.
*SIGH* So yeah... I hope this all clears out and the “Lock-Up” will become a Temporary thing. TT
Until then I’ll still be updating on Ao3 when I can (also here to let everyone know if a new chap is up), and if you have a Deviantart account, I’ll be updating the fics there too (you can find me as LoKiRaseNgAn there).

Amazon is presently one of the biggest online marketplace for every marketer. Everyday, there are up to millon of dollars in sales for Amazon products. With this business, you can earn from Amazon affiliate marketing or Amazon FBA.
When you market any products here,no matter what your campaign is,you will need a promotion or product review video. In fact, with video, people will more likely to buy your products.
So,today i will introduce you a video app that helps you create video from Amazon products,YouZon. After having a test with the product,i would say it’s a good product for Amazon marketers.
Now,let’s read my YouZon review and demo video so that you understand how it works.
What is YouZon?
At first,it’s a video creator that helps you quickly create a video ads or promotion videos from Amazon products. You can search products on Amazon and then YouZon can quicly create your videos based on the product details. The best features of this product is that it has custom text to speech features with various language.
Who Is YouZon For?
All Amazon Marketer such as FBA Seller and Amazon Affiliate
Every marketers at any experience
Facebook Video Advertiser
Those who create video sales letter or a funnel to sell Amazon products
You want to add Text to Speech for Video
And many more,…
Main Features and Demo of YouZon
Now,i will show you exactly what you are actually getting inside the software. This is the member’s area once you login.
As you know,Amazon has multiple marketplace and luckily, you can use multiple marketplace also.
For example,i use the keyword Iphone X. Then,a list of products fit the keywords iphone x apppears.
1.Create and Edit Video
What surprises me about this software is that it has custom text to speech features. By default,it has text to speech on description. So,right here, you need to add your own description, then YouZon will text to speech for you.
Most TTS video maker only have English while this one has a lot more. Please watch my demo video to see it in Chinese language. Like apps such as Clipman and Videlligence, this one also collect images from a product.
But the different is about how much images for this. While with these 2 apps, you can only add 3 images. For Youzon, the amount of images is from Amazon’s products. Besides, you can also add custom images from Pixabay as a way to make it explain better.
After creating a video, you can view a list of your custom generated video. Besides, you can automatically push your video to Youtube.
2.Add Affiliate Link (or Other Link) and Analytics
If you add link,Youzon will automatically insert that link to your Youtube video description. You can add your Amazon Affiliate link or if you run Ecom Store, you can insert your Store Product Page.
Besides, you can analyze competitors who rank their Youtube video with your chosen keywords. For example, when looking at Iphone X keywords,i think it’s hard to beat these guys because their video have too many engagaments and views.
3.Custom Video Creator
Besides creating video by using Product Search on Amazon, you can also create your own custom video. Many people buy YouZon just to have Text to Speech Features especially for multiple language.
So,you can create any type of presentation video like this. To test features, make sure you watch my demo video below. And that’s all you need to know about YouZon before you buy the software.

OTO 2 : YouZon Enterprise ($47)
This is the custom video creator i have shown you above.
OTO 3 : YouZon Reseller ($97 or $197)
It’s like affiliate with 100% commission,i don’t really like this idea. The $97 allows you to sell 50 accounts and the $197 allows $197. You get 100% commission for FE and 50% for the funnel.
Bonus From Me
In order to help your life much easier,i will add some extra bonuses if you buy YouZon through my link. This product is sold on Jvzoo so that after you buy,you will get immediate access to my bonuses. Of course,no cheap PLR bonuses as always.

Locutius Letter #18
A note on AI vs ML before we get into this newsletter: I prefer to use the term ML (Machine Learning) over AI because I want us, as humans who make things, to understand that we are responsible for these outcomes. We’re the ones who teach these machines or provide data sets (or we’re the ones that make the machines that teach themselves) and we need to be considerate about what we’re doing. It's semantics, but meaning matters.

Microsoft kicks off AI for Accessibility
Today Microsoft announced a $25 million, 5-year program to “put AI tools in the hands of developers to accelerate the development of accessible and intelligent AI solutions to benefit the 1 billion-plus people with disabilities around the world.”
Yes, that press release really does say “intelligent [artificial intelligence]”
Worldwide, only 10% of people with disabilities have access to assistive technology, so it’ll be interesting to see if it’s better to make more tech available or …. Maybe just give more money to people with disabilities? (see this article on cash transfers)
AI for Accessibility has three components:
Providing seed grants of technology to developers, NGOs, universities, and inventors, so that they can do AI-first work
Identifying project with potential and providing more investment so they can scale
Embedding inclusive design and AI across all Microsoft products and helping partners improve the accessibility of their offerings
Read more about Microsoft’s AI for Accessibility program on their blog (there doesn’t seem to be a website yet - but there is a website for the AI for Earth program they launched last year: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/aiforearth)

Last weekend I got to hang out with a friend who is a neuroimaging specialist. We had a fun conversation about education theory (we’re both former teachers) and we discussed the history of humanity’s understanding of the brain. Have you ever thought about how in the past, we only knew what different parts of the brain did because:
Someone got stabbed in the head or injured and something about their memory, ability, or personality changed
Something about a person’s memory, ability, or personality changed and after they died we cut open their head and looked for damage.
Thanks, brain injuries!

Texts Going To A Landline.
You can now receive and send text from your. They can interact via brief or long text messages. The preliminary text message you receive asking you to accept the Text to Landline shipment cost. When AcroVoice began the process of setting up SMS, we needed to acquire LOAs from our CLECs appointing us rights to enter their numbers into various databases that other carriers look up to determine whether a number supports SMS and where to path it. Required improvement: Eliminate the ad that plays prior to each traffic report (we're already paying $35 a month!). The app scours your contact list on your mobile phone to discover other Viber users, which makes it simple to know who you can call for complimentary. However when you turn text into speech, you can get your message across to landline numbers also. David Miliband, president and chief executive officer of the International Rescue Committee (IRC), discusses his career in civil service and the IRC's mission to provide relief and advancement operations in more than 40 nations around the globe. With over 230 million landlines, consisting of 50 million toll-free numbers in North America, the prospective market for his service was huge. Utilize our Discussions application to empower your group with live customer texting. To obtain themselves of TXT 135, consumers merely need to call 171 or check out any PLDT workplace for free activation. Put another method, while 96% of teenagers who have a cellphone use it to make calls, only" 72% use it for texting. GeekWire Mid-week Update-- Most-read stories up until now this week, delivered Wednesday. Reactions across all nations indicated that communication was both exactly what subjects liked most and least-- enjoying the ability to call others but feeling trapped by other people's ability to always contact them. Top 3 finest prepaid and no contract mobile phone services of 2017. Please submit an application after you put your deposit and permit 2 weeks for review. For individuals with physical restrictions, the most useful, standard functions of a cell phone are Bluetooth compatibility and voice dialing. However on a great note, i did some research study and found a link on hofo months ago about a business who uses this service, i e-mailed them, provided my numbers and they got rid of the text to landline from both my lines. In 2001, text messaging played an important role in deposing previous Philippine president Joseph Estrada Similarly, in 2008, text messaging played a primary role in the ramification of previous Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick in an SMS sex scandal. Offer us a call at 1( 877 )877-9473 to go over, its normally not a huge offer its just that our search tool isn't really 100% precise. All staying arrangements of this Guarantee stay in full force and impact if any provision of this Guarantee is unenforceable. Some health companies manage text messaging services to help people avoid smoking. It's a competitive advantage for services that maximize the technology they currently have in location, combining the reliability of a landline, and the 'reach me anywhere' nature of a mobile phone," Burr added. The president of Union Square Hospitality Group discusses the value of service and developing a strong culture of hospitality. Wherever you are, you can always get hold of us complimentary of charge.
That might reflect their absence of access to tools such as computer systems, tablets or smartphones to get and send e-mail or text messages, due to the fact that they merely are less accustomed to utilizing these kinds of interaction. The worldwide company uniquely combines a market-leading BSS, OSS and network control and optimization product portfolio with value-driven expert services and managed services operations. Near to half (45%) of poorer teenagers say they never ever text about school work, while 30% of all teens say they never ever text about school tasks. When that's done, it's $10 per month for inbound calls and unrestricted texts, 5,000 outgoing minutes, call screening, and a few other functions. Vault, JobVent, and FuckedCompany already supplied workers with places to gossip and rail, however such forums had a reputation as tirade websites for upset individuals," Hohman stated. I sent a text and it was to land line number. However I was recently questioning, as I was eating there for the millionth time: do they have any one- or two-star evaluations?" They did. Sexting is slang for the act of sending suggestive or sexually explicit content in between mobile devices using SMS. So unless TT activate the service centre number on thier system and route it through to BT's network, no talk talk consumer will realistically be able to recieve and send out SMS on thier LLU network. Let individuals reach you without needing any special mobile app. Nevertheless, it is still crucial to bear in mind that all reactions were spontaneously produced, and subjects might only provide a single reaction to each concern. These findings use evidence of how the cellular phone assists to keep bigger networks of close individual ties, and, when it comes to voice calling, it functions as a resource for social support when teens have to talk about individual matters. The cellular phone can be straight synced with the hearing aids, to permit phone conversations (and other audio media) to be streamed directly to both listening devices, hands free. Text-enabling service landline telephone number includes OTT rich media messaging (text, voice and image text or walkie talkie" like messaging) to existing landline phone numbers and will continue to represent a pioneering technique to organisation messaging versus current company IM options. However, playing music on the cell phone is still popular for these individuals. The heaviest texters (> 30 texts daily) were Koreans (43.8 percent), followed by Italians (16.9 percent) and Japanese (16.1 percent). All the pundits Tuesday are going to say he looked presidential," said Cody Keenan, a previous chief speechwriter for Obama.

How to manage your bookmarks! (Resources 2/3)
This the follow-up post to my Resources 1/3 post.
The aim is to provide you guys with valuable links to use in your coding-learning activities.
In the first post we covered the basics and essentials, sort of the "101" links you should always have open in a tab somewhere. If you don't know yet, here's how to "pin" a browser tab so that your link stays open no matter what.
By now, if you haven't done so, I'd encourage you to start organizing your bookmarks into categories.
Personally, here's how I do.
Part 1
The first set of folders I have in my bookmarks is sorted by languages:
HTML
CSS
JavaScript / jQuery
React
Inside each "language folder" I have the following sub-folders:
Documentation/Docs
This is where I keep important links such as MDN pages on specific methods or prototyping for JS, or references to sections of the Facebook React Github docs for React.JS. I started with a single 'Docs' folder to keep all my important MDN links together but it quickly became too crowded and I could not tell apart one from the other so now I like to separate those by language. It makes more sense. You'll often be stuck on a script while building a function, thinking "damn how does that .map() method works already?" so you might event want to have like 'Functions' sub-sub-folder if you find yourself browsing that a lot. Remember that a bookmark should only be one if the relevant page takes more than 2/3 sec to be Googled. :)
The second subfolder I have in each language foder is
Articles
There are tons of great articles out there on the direction each environment is taking, how JS is evolving into ES7? How React is changing the way we 'think' and 'organize' our code? Which version of Angular will finally be stable and consistent (aha)? This is where you can keep track of the major changes hitting the front-end ecosystem.
Best practice in my opinion is to keep that one at the bottom of your languages folders so that they're not visually competing with the useful stuff you'll be searching when you work but be sure it's accessible as it's still nice to keep an overview on how things are evolving out there.
Tutorials
Tutorials are great, especially if you're a visual learner like me, I can read something 10 times without grabbing it really, but if I can try on my own or see someone doing it live, it helps a lot!
Since YouTube doesn't really have a great way to organize and manage your playlists (creating subfolders in YouTube would soooooo great 😍), I often have to dog past vegan recipes and Bowie concerts to get my hands on that specific "React + Firebase Tutorial"...
A little Space Oddity in the back doesn't do any harm still 🚀
Part 2
Moving on now, the second set I have is all my learning resources.
Learning resources
This one of course will depend on how you learn online, which sites you use if you use any. Among many others, I keep the following ones bookmarked:
Teamtreehouse
FreeCodeCamp ❤️
Udemy
CodeSchool
Udacity
CodeAcademy
Some such as FCC or TT will have a dedicated forum/blogging section so sometimes, some of those links can be moved into the afore-mentioned 'Tutorials' or 'Articles' folders based on your individual needs and/or preference.
I also like to keep my Gitter help chat rooms from FCC bookmarked there. I use Slack at work and keep my personal bookmarks separate from my work-ones (Thank you Google Chrome).
Finally.
Part 3
This is probably the largest section. I started creating a Resources folder with everything in it but found myself having to go through the all thing just for a specific font so I like to have the following now:
Fonts
This is such and important resource. A good font will often make the difference between a bad-looking page and a great one. Building a page with the default browser font is a crime. Seriously.
You don't have to be a designer or anything to pick a great font. In most cases, using Lato or Roboto from Google Fonts is already a great improvement over a default font. If you can spend some time on that aspect though, please do. Your projects will look more complete and potential employers will see that you're not only a code-generator. 🤓
Here are some links I keep in my 'Fonts' folder:
Google Fonts: Free and essential, easy to use too.
WhatFontIs.com: Helps you identify a specific font using a URL or an image file.
DaFont: Free fonts.
LostType Co-Op: If you're looking for something a bit more hype and trendy. Those fonts are paid ones but 100% of the price goes into the designer's pocket. ✊🏻
Letterhead Fonts: Rare and unique old typefaces.
Futuracha Pro: ... that's my personal addition to the list. A font that evolves as you type it...
More great font-links here, here and here.
Colors
This is such and important resource. A good color will often make the difference between a bad-looking page and a great one. Building a page with a "darkslategrey" or a "hotpink" background-color is a crime. Seriously. 🤔
Here are my top links for picking gorgeous palettes for my projects:
ColorMe.io: Helps you visualize how colors work in CSS. You can pick a color and tweak its different settings.
Flat UI Color Picker: The name is quite self-explanatory. This web app will help you pick a color depending on various shades.
Color-Hex: That one's always open in a pinned tab. So useful! Provides you with a wide range of color palettes. Pretty neat if you want to replicate popular websites.
Flat Colors: Like Color-Hex, Flat-Colors can help you pick a color palette when you're lacking inspiration on a project.
HTML Color Names: Even though they should not be used extensively; HTML built-in colors can help for a quick fix when prototyping a page.
LOL Colors: Because I'm a big fan of McKenzie Child, I can only recommend you check out his color palette tool!
Images / Photos
This is such and important resource. A good ...
Ok, I think you get the point.
Here are my favorite sites for free pictures and photos:
Unsplash: Great site with tons of not only free to use visuals but some photos are simply stunning.
Pexels: Probably a step down in terms of quality compared to Unsplash but the quantity is there.
Vexels: Same as Pexels but for vector graphics.
Shutterstock: Although the best picks are obviously paid, Shutterstock has some free pics too.
Pixabay: Some sorting needed but good overall resource.
Canva: Canva deserves to be at the very top of your bookmark list. It's an online graphic editing tool that allows to create custom-size graphic elements (banners, buttons, frames, info graphics, etc.) and export those onto your computer. How neat is that. Huge time-saver if you have a precise idea in mind.
Material Design Icons: Great resources for icons.
Font Awesome: Another great resource for icons. Easy to use and endlessly scalable in terms of resolution. Those will always look great and will give q consistent look to your social icons and menus. They're releasing v5 which seems to be packed with tons of new stuff!
Material Design Guidelines: Not to be mistaken with the font link above. This is packed with Google's own recommendations and tools to get familiar with the material UI elements and layouts Android introduced.
